Mathapalooza

This past week, the four elementary GT specialists in our district worked together to out in a Mathapalooza for the elementary schools in our district.  We looked at the weakest objectives for our district and each planned an interactive lesson on each of them for the  the students.  The third and fourth grade students rotated through the stations.  They learned area, two-step problems, three-dimensional shapes, and probability.   As a special treat, the classroom teachers got some time off for extra planning.  The teachers and students seemed to enjoy the time.  On my end, it felt good to see so many students and to help the teachers out.  I enjoyed seeing the smiles on the kids faces after they left my station.  I love being encouraged to try new things.
